What's New?
Merry Christmas!
12.25.2008

santa pic'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring – save for me, my wife and our cats! Hehehe… I figured it would be nice to spread some Christmas cheer, so I edited a picture taken when I was just a small little boy, standing next to a painted santa that my uncle Chuck had hand crafted. I removed me and changed the background so that santa would show up better here on the world wide web. Enjoy!

Now, time for one of those Wheeless family traditions here on the night before Christmas… I am off to watch "It's A Wonderful Life". So from my family to yours – Merry Christmas and to all a good night.

Adjusted My Website's "Style"
12.23.2008

I was getting kind of tired of the drab gray tones around here and honestly, I have never been overly enthusiastic about that old red colored "www.wheeless.org" logo that I made. I had not put the time into it that I had wanted to back when I created it. So, I figured I would spend a bit of my "off" time redecorating the place a bit.

I started by using the Gimp to edit a photograph I had taken in Charleston during one of my last family reunions. Once I got that looking the way I wanted, I used it to make a new banner (as you can plainly see up above). Then, I added a dash of adjustments to my color schemes and voila!, instant makeover.

Well, I like it and think it is a vast improvement, so that is really all that matters. Enjoy!

Another Year Older
12.22.2008

ballon picSo the inevitable has occurred, I have managed to get yet another year older. Looking back, it has been a good year for me – I have my health, my job (thank the Gods), and my family. Hopefully this upcoming year will continue to be more of the same with maybe a few trips (for pleasure, not work) mixed in.

This year was also one in which I witnessed the passing of my grandmother. I know she is looking down though, probably right about now and wishing me a happy birthday. So I am going to take a quick moment and look up to wish her the same. Had she lived, she would have been 97 years old on Friday.

So I'll end with this – "Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me, Happy…"
